Tiger Woods’ to Haiti’s rescue
January 15, 2010 – 8:49 pmWell, the right opportunity has been presented to Tiger Woods’ to redeem himself. The golf pro has announced that he will donate close to $ 3 million to the earth quake devastated country of Haiti.
Say workers close to the golf great, “Tiger Woods is working on sending a mobile hospital with 50 EMTs to go set up a triage.” Tiger’s aim is to send a team of physicians and health care supplies to Haiti as soon as possible said hip hop mogul, Russell Simmons.
Haiti, a tiny island close to Puerto Rico and the Dominican republic was hit by a massive 7.0 earthquake 3 days ago. It is estimated that close to 50,000 people have died and countless remain missing.
Haiti is among the poorest country in the Americas and has been beset by corruption, natural disasters, poverty and unemployment.
Recently Woods was also approached by singer, Wyclef Jean’s Yele relief group to help with the situation in Haiti.
Woods has been out of any serious news for more than 2 months since accounts of his infidelity surfaced. Hopefully, this will allow the golf great to concentrate more on his family and take him out of the bad publicity he has been receiving.
