Sylvester Stallone says that during the making of his new movie, “The Expendables” he broke his neck and required surgery. This Former tough guy admitted that he required emergency surgery after breaking a bone in his neck while shooting a scene with co star and former WWE wrestler, “Stone cold Steve Austin”. Sylvester said that the surgeons had to insert a metal plate to hold the bones together.
Said 63 year old Stallone, “My fight with ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin was so vicious that I ended up getting a hairline fracture in my neck. I’m not joking. I haven’t told anyone this, but I had to have a very serious operation afterwards. I now have a metal plate in my neck.”
However, despite his age, Stallone has shown no signs of letting up. The actor professed that even the stunt men on the show were asking for a break from the hard work.
Stallone’s latest movie, “The Expendables” is about a gang of mercenaries who have set out overthrow a foreign tyrant. The movie is action packed like all Sly movies and also includes some of the biggest names in Hollywood like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke, Jet Li, and Jason Statham. The movie is directed by Stallone.
“The Expendables” is scheduled to hit theaters in midsummer.
