Taco Bell Drive Thru Diet
December 27, 2009 – 11:47 pmWhat will they think of next? Fast food giant Taco Bell has launched their “Drive Thru Diet” in an effort to lure customers in who are looking for a fast food fix, but longing to lose the fat they’ve gained from a diet of large portions and, well, fast food.
Taco Bell is promoting their fast food diet, known as the “Drive Thru Diet”, not as a weight loss program. Christine, a spokeswoman is claiming she lost 54 pounds over a two year period by choosing “Fresco items from the Drive-Thru Diet® menu and making other sensible choices.” She lost the weight by reducing her caloric intake by 500 calories to 1,250 calories a day. Most people can lose weight gradually by reducing their daily intake of calories to 1200 – 1500 calories a day. By choosing Fresco items at Taco Bell, which include items on the menu such as bean burritos, chicken soft tacos, and burrito supremes, twice a day, a person can lose the weight over a period of time. Taco Bell released a statement which reads, “For a healthier lifestyle, pay attention to total calorie and fat intake and regular exercise. Fresco can help with calorie reductions of 20 to 100 per item compared to corresponding products on our regular menu. Not a low calorie food.” It won’t hurt to get off the couch and add some exercise to your routine as well.
The truth of the matter though is that anyone can lose weight eating only 1,250 to 1,500 calories a day, eating anything if you so choose, be it French fries and ice cream sundaes. Exercise will only speed things up. Lining up for Taco Bell’s Drive Thru Diet will be the hopefuls, eternally searching for that magic cure they can actually stick with.
