Gordon Ramsay starts new TV show
December 31, 2009 – 5:42 pmGordon Ramsay, the British guru on dining, is now looking to introduce a new show to the American audience. The “F…ing” mouth chef is looking only for amateur cooks for his new cooking show. Professional chefs and anyone who has been cooking for restaurants will not be considered.
The show is looking for both personality and cooking ability. Producers are soon going to announce auditions in a number of cities starting in January 2010. Interested participants will be required to appear at auditions with a prepared dish and within a set time deliver the food to the judges. The show will judge presentation and individual flair.
Says casting producer Ethan Petersen, “People will be judged on personality and on the quality of the food they are bringing to us.”
The final prize for the winner is not known but will most likely involve more thorough training at one of Ramsay’s world famous restaurants. Similar shows in Britain and Australia have been a hit.
“The show is truly an inspirational show being produced by the same team that does the ‘Biggest Loser.’ We are looking for people that aren’t just passionate about food but are passionate about life,” Petersen said.
It is not known yet if the amateur cooks will also be allowed to use the F… word on the show.
